Collection: Art
I am primarily known for my drawings...that helps me to stand out because the majority of visual artists that people know are painters. Personally, I prefer to capture the human form using colored pencils and black paper. I find it simple yet extremely elegant.
My art is “ethnic,” but not so much “tribal”, and there’s a familiar aesthetic that reflects the African Diaspora. Meaning, it’s obvious that my subjects are people of color even though their pigment might be blue, green or purple, instead of the usual shades of brown. My art explores the idea that being black is about more than just skin color.
